Challenge
The pandemic, which, despite increasing interest in online learning, led to an overall decline in university enrollment. California State University Northridge (CSUN) needed to combat the slump and communicate the value of its continuing education programs for post-bachelor students seeking to advance their careers or pivot to new industries. They sought to highlight the tangible benefits of career advancement while showcasing the diverse range of programs offered, positioning their courses as a solution for motivated individuals navigating an unpredictable professional landscape with media placements on streaming services.
Approach
We brought the programs to life by focusing on two standout offerings—engineering and medical—and crafted non-verbal stories with each narrative following a character’s journey from facing professional roadblocks to achieving future success, emphasizing how CSUN’s continuing education courses empowered them to invest in themselves. The resulting combination of emotive storytelling and a clear focus on outcomes demonstrated the transformative impact of CSUN’s programs in a relatable and aspirational way.
